- Current Major Guidelines -
• Newer major Guidelines are quite similar:
– ASCO
– NCCN
– MASCC / ESMO
• Updated guidelines are earnest attempts to address new information, but have often strayed from
high quality evidence to be able to approach more issues
• Issues for guideline committees to address include:
– A better focus on evidence or at least an effort to feature evidence versus opinion (
consensus
)
– Simplification of prevention of emesis
– Adapting guidelines to address availability and affordability for more communities
